Volunteers Needed for the Walter Reed Green Road Project Clean Up October 21

On Saturday October 21 from 9AM-12PM, there will be a general cleanup of the Green Road site at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. Please come with your rakes, wheel barrows and hand saws to help rake, remove fallen branches and beautify the site. If you do not have ID to access Walter Reed, please consider driving with someone who does. If not, then please fill out this form fill out this form. and send to Dr Fred Foote (240-483-9676), the sponsor, by October 11.

Leadership & Mentoring Program Graduation Dinner Dec 5th

Please join the SAME DC and NOVA Posts for our Leadership & Mentoring Program Graduation Dinner on December 5th at the Army Navy Club.  Our program participants include Young Members from Industry and the Government who have dedicated themselves over the past year to developing their leadership skills through the program’s monthly sessions with SAME Fellows and other senior mentors.  We invite all SAME members to join us in celebrating their accomplishments.

SAME Foundation Now Accepting Donations

Spring 2016 SAME established the Society of American Military Engineers Foundation ("Foundation") as a separate 501(c)3 tax exempt organization to provide a secure and beneficial repository for charitable and other bequeaths from members of the Society and the public at large. In addition, the Fund will separate the philanthropic objectives of the Society from the Society's day to day operations. The primary purpose of the Foundation is to continue to promote the strategic goals of the Society and to support the development and growth of members and future members. Therefore, spending will include but is not limited to the following:

  • Funding member professional development and career advancement programs, including negotiating certification discounts, and then funding the programs
  • Providing stipends to fund member travel to SAME events
  • Supporting SAME Engineering & Construction Camps
  • Promoting STEM-related initiatives
  • Providing scholarships to students who are pursuing degrees in STEM-related fields
