2017 Resilient Virginia Conference

“Connecting Communities, Business, and Educators for Resiliency Solutions”
August 1–2, 2017 | Richmond, Virginia

The SAME DC Post is pleased to share the following information with our members regarding the upcoming 2017 Resilient Virginia Conference which aligns with SAME’s Mission to “identify and resolve national security infrastructure-related challenges.”

The Resilient Virginia Conference brings together participants from local and national businesses, and representatives from higher education, state and local governments, and community organizations to:

  • Explore resiliency rationales for their organizations
  • Learn resiliency processes applicable to the public and private sector
  • Develop an understanding of resiliency priorities in different regions of the state
  • Engage in networking with resiliency businesses, government representatives, and institutional and community organizations
  • Take away tools that can be used for resiliency planning in their own communities

SAME DC and CMAA NCC St. Elizabeths West Campus Tour

This tour has reached its maximum capacity

Please join CMAA National Capital Chapter and SAME Washington DC Post for a jointly-sponsored tour of the St. Elizabeths West Campus Development, including the following highlights:

  • Historic Buildings (in current condition)
  • Rehabilitated Building
  • U.S. Coast Guard HQ from Upper Campus
  • Center Building
  • Government Briefing after Tour

SAME Foundation Now Accepting Donations

Spring 2016 SAME established the Society of American Military Engineers Foundation ("Foundation") as a separate 501(c)3 tax exempt organization to provide a secure and beneficial repository for charitable and other bequeaths from members of the Society and the public at large. In addition, the Fund will separate the philanthropic objectives of the Society from the Society's day to day operations. The primary purpose of the Foundation is to continue to promote the strategic goals of the Society and to support the development and growth of members and future members. Therefore, spending will include but is not limited to the following:

  • Funding member professional development and career advancement programs, including negotiating certification discounts, and then funding the programs
  • Providing stipends to fund member travel to SAME events
  • Supporting SAME Engineering & Construction Camps
  • Promoting STEM-related initiatives
  • Providing scholarships to students who are pursuing degrees in STEM-related fields
